Author Mark Greaney and narrator Jay Snyder are a nice team and whenever they are together they provide a hit item. The two have worked on a number of projects and the audience just loves the team. Court Gentry gets into a big mess once again when he was just going somewhere on the CIA transport plane.
The flight plan gets interrupted because of something serious and Gentry didn’t want to be a part of all that. A criminal was being taken to somewhere far and there was a large security team that was hired to keep an eye on him. The security guys wanted to get rid of Gentry because they wanted to deal with the matter on their own but their request gets denied by the CIA. The plane reaches a secretive base in the UK and Gentry thinks that the journey was over but he was wrong.
Soon the plane is attacked by a group of terrorists and the prisoner escapes successfully. The security team gets slaughtered in the process and only Gentry is able to keep himself alive in the combat. After that, the CIA asks Gentry to go after the criminal because he has information about a mole in the department and the information must not reach the wrong hands.
Actions go wilder than in Threat Vector so this novel brings the heat back to the series. The mission is not only serious, but it is also a big one too just like one all of the fans observed in Burner once. The name surely goes well with the story because everything here is critical or serious this time.
