Miniatures is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is written by John Scalzi. He is a renowned author and also the president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. The Kaiju Preservation Society is one of his very best novels. You will also be pleased to experience his exceptional writing in Lock In (Narrated by Wil Wheaton).
The narration of Miniatures is done by Khristine Hvam, Luke Daniels, Peter Ganim, Fred Berman, Greg Cope White, and John Scalzi. These are all big names in the world of narration and their performances were excellent for the characters. Pluto, the ex-planet had some choice words for being thrown right out of the solar system. The alternate history suggests all the different ways in which Hitler died. A lawyer sued an interplanetary union which was for some extremely dangerous kind of working conditions.
There were as many as four different artificial bits of intelligence who explained in worrying detail how they worked out a plan for not destroying humanity. The book has four different, engaging stories along with 14 other pieces as well. They all have one thing in common. You will find them to be sharp, short, and to the point. This is your chance to experience science fiction in miniature where no story is anywhere less than 2,300 words. But, you will be able to see the entire universe created in that short space. There will be futuristic humor and absurd situations as well which you will thoroughly enjoy.
This novel proves to be an ideal introduction for the audience who are looking for a comprehensive sense of John Scalzi’s style of writing. Having six narrators for the book proved to be an excellent choice.
