Mindsiege is a teen & young adult novel. It is the second installment in the Mindspeak novel series. The author of this book is Heather Sunseri. She started writing initially just to find an escape from her dull life as a muggle. After spending a couple of decades in the corporate world, she turned to the business of publishing novels and then full-time writing as well. Exposed in Darkness will surely be one of her very best novels. The same could be said about her writing in Shot in Darkness novel.
The audio narration of Mindsiege is done by Amy Landon. The performance was not consistent at all. She changed her voice several times for the same character and that made it a very annoying audiobook experience for the listeners.
The novel starts with the mentioning of an intruder who got full control of the mind of Lexi Matthews. That act put in grave danger the lives of all those who were closest to her.
When someone snaked right into the mind of Lexi and threatened the life of Jack from Lexi herself then she had to take a quick decision. She had the option to leave behind Jack and the entire web of lies, deceit, and controversies in medical science. This could be one option to protect Jack. The other option was to just stay there and fight hard to get full control of her mind once again. But, that option would risk the life of Jack.
The first book in the series was lovely. This one will keep you guessing for a long and you will find yourself with a cliffhanger at the end. Moreover, the audio performance didn’t well good and smooth at all.
