Amber Benson gets the narration done in style and it is because of the narration that the story is quite easily understood by fans of all ages. There is nothing more soothing than listening to the narration of a book without any kind of pause. The narrator has made this thing sure that there is no pause or any kind of break in the flow of narration. Seanan McGuire introduces twins named Roger and Dodger in the story.

Both have their own expertise in different things. Roger happens to be an expert in understanding things happening around him and he believes in the power of story while on the other hand, Dodger is completely dependent on mathematics.

Dodger thinks that mathematical calculations can solve everything thus this can provide a solution to every problem. At first, the twins think that they are human beings but their powers separate them from the human world and provide them hint that the two are born with a special purpose. It was actually Reed who created them with the special purpose of taking control of the entire world. Reed wants his creation to attain full strength so that they can help him achieve his goal.

It is a dangerous game that the author talks about in this story, a bit the same as When Sorrows Come and Discount Armageddon in grandeur. Throughout, the future of the human race is at stake and it is up to the twins to decide what they want to do with their powers. If they decide to support their creator then it would be all over for the rest of humanity.
