John Gwynne works like a clever weaver in every book which he creates. The author tries to provide surprises to the audience as well so the fans are always expecting something unique from him. The narration of this book is done by Damian Lynch who always fulfills a task very neatly. We are brought to the Banished Lands were seeing strange creatures is no big deal at all. Giants can be seen moving here and there, however, it does not mean that they are harmless.
