Days of magic and magicians were over when the series started; later Ce’Nedra faced something which she thought does not exist. The princess never believed in magic and the omens related to the Orb. She thought that all of it was just old myths or stories that were created by the old folks and later they turned into fake legends.
Evil god Torak was never seen by the people of Tolnedra for the last thousand years and according to everyone perhaps he too is now dead. When the Orb finally appears in front of the princess and is stolen too she is left with no reason to say no to prophesy and the old legends. There is one more thing i.e if the Orb was real then it means that it was really protecting the land and now the kingdom has been left unguarded.
Torak soon would be coming for the life of those who have stopped him in the past. Belgarath still exists in the real world after thousands of years and it is a good omen for the people of the land that he has a grandson too who can fulfill the given prophecy.
Garion the grandson of the magician also never believed in magic and now he can see it flowing out of his hands. It is he who is destined to do wonders which the author David Eddings talked about in the starting parts. Cameron Beierle never gets tired during the narration of long tales and the narrator has proved his skill here. Pawn of Prophecy and Enchanters’ End Game can also go well before or after this book if you want to get a detailed look at the characters and the theme of the series. Success always comes at a high price for the main characters in this series. Here too the princess has to leave her love for the sake of the kingdom.
