Minalan i.e the Spellmonger is not a new character for the old fans of Terry Mancour rather the character of Minalan gave all the fame to the author. The spellmonger is present in this book narrated by John Lee but the story is not entirely about him. Minalan trained two of his best disciples for a special purpose and when they fulfilled that purpose they were knighted for their services.

It was a grand occasion for all of them but there was a problem i.e the two disciples Tyndal and Rondal didn’t know anything about their duties. In such a state they could bring a lot of shame for their master too so Minalan hired a tutor for them who could guide them in the best possible way about the ways of knighthood.
