Sometimes we appreciate the book but don’t talk about the narrator because we forget the services which are provided by him. That’s surely an injustice with the narrator, especially in books that depict emotions because it is the narrator whose voice provides the chance to feel the emotions in the right way. Sura Siu is the narrator of this book which is written from the perspective of an artificial friend named Klara. Kazuo Ishiguro writes about an artificial friend who is present on display from where it can see people and the sun of course.
Every day Klara waits for someone who would take it home and be its friend forever. The other thing which comes into the view of this artificial every day is the sun. The sun provides hope to Klara as it watches the people browsing every now and then. No one notices Klara’s presence but it has been keeping an eye on everyone for a very long time.
Klara knows the habits of different people who come to that place quite often. So through the eyes of an artificial friend, the listeners see the behavior of the people who are present around us. The Buried Giant is fascinating but this book is more fun for those who want to understand the deep meanings hidden in literature.
The Remains of the Day could serve as a topping after the last chapter of this book. All these books are symbolic in nature because the author talks about different things in a hidden way. Kazuo wants the listeners to toil a little in order to understand the books fully as in that way the literature looks more interesting.
