Kings of Paradise is the opening title of the Ashes and Sand Series. This science fiction and fantasy novel is written by Richard Nell. He is a Canadian writer of fantasy books. He has done pretty decent work in the literary field with novels as good as Kings of Heaven. Another fantastic title of the author from the same Ashes and Sand Series is Kings of Ash.
The audio narration of the Kings of Paradise novel is done by Ralph Lister. He had a very grating voice and made this book a very hard listen for someone who wants to enjoy this hours-long story with continuity.
The story started with the mention of a deformed genius. He was the one with a plot for vengeance while he was himself struggling to survive.
Ruka at the time of his birth was called a demon and he turned out to be a genius. He was born ugly and malformed in Ascom, which was a snow-covered wasteland. He was spared from sudden death at the time of his birth and all that happened because of the love of his mother. He became an outcast and was fully consumed with hate for all of those people who had always wronged him in life. But, he needs to survive first if he is serious about his vengeance. This situation wouldn’t be easy for him to tackle.
This is a grand start to a new trilogy and you will wait for the next one in the series once you finish this title. The only objectionable thing about this audio novel is its narration, which was not up to the mark.
