Rezkin was sent by the king to take control of an island with something special in it. The warrior who is one of those who serves the king willingly lands on the island and without a second thought in his mind he uses the power of the fist to fulfill what he was ordered.
All Rezkin now wants is the recognition of the king after which the place will become a state of the king. The men who came to the island with the warrior will stay there permanently and will keep the place safe as well from any kind of foreign invasion. On his return towards the court of the king Rezkin finds himself in a lot of trouble. There are issues rising from all sides and those whom Rezkin once held dear are in a deep trouble. His close friend can lose his life if the warrior fails to fulfill the task that he is asked to perform.
Also secrets hidden on the island prove to be something more than an ordinary man can handle. Kel Kade has garnished this novel with special topping which he never used in Reign of Madness or Free the Darkness. This is one special effort by the author which he had in stock for a long time.
For Nick Podehl it was not a new experience as he has narrated fiction and fantasy all his life. Dealing with characters like Rezkin is very easy for this experienced narrator. One thing which is felt about the story at the start is that it moves very slow because of which some of the fans can think of leaving it at the initial stages. But this thing is associated to first three chapters after which you will never think of leaving the train.
