This is the second book of the “Broken Empire” by James Clamp. The first book before this which introduced us to the story and the characters was Prince of Thorns. The second book begins where the first book ended and the story marches on very strongly. Jorg has won battles and defeated enemies but he is not the kind of person whom we can call a hero. For the sake of victory, he can adopt any method that is beneficial for him and his men.
Previously he has won by hook or by crook and that is his main strength in the open battle. Enemies and people around Jorg thought that he would never be able to regain control of his throne but the thing has become a reality now. After getting back to his throne the warrior analyzed that peace is still hard to find on the land. There are wars and fights everywhere and a serious campaign is needed to get rid of all the intruders.
These little troubling groups are easy to deal that’s why Jorg is currently not focusing on them entirely, he is more worried about the enemy who is more powerful than him and cannot be matched at all. Author Mark Lawrence again forces the hero to use his cunningness instead of his warrior skills in the big fight.
This is how the author decorated Red Sister i.e through clever stuff. James Clamp’s sharp voice has done the trick in narration, the narrator portrays the real face of the hero in front of the listeners. The story is not the kind that would take a lot of time to get concluded so listen to it without any worry of the quick ending.
