Into Thin Air

The highest peak in the world is not a fun ride to climb because the climate can really become messy most of the time. Jon Krakauer is not a professional author rather he happens to be a professional climber who has seen everything with his own eyes. He has written books such as Into the Wild and Where Men Win Glory which tell us about the days of adventure that the author has spent on different mountaintops.

This one is the toughest of all because he almost lost his life and he saw his friends being frozen in front of his eyes. When he reached the top of the highest peak in the world, the weather was quite clear. He just attested his authority while touching the peak and he was the first one in his team to do that.

The rest of the team members were going to the top when Jon was coming in the downward direction. None of them ever expected that there would be a storm quite soon. Jon came back to his camp when the clouds appeared out of nowhere and he got almost frozen in his camp. The next day when he woke up he found out that out of six members of his team there was only one survivor and the rest of them were frozen under deep snow. The one who survived was also in a very bad state.

One of his arms was not moving at all still he was lucky that he survived the deadly weather. Although Jon was traveling with the best guide in the world the chances of survival were still the same because the weather was uncontrollable. Listen to this book in Philip Franklin’s voice and you will understand the true meaning of adventure. There is no exaggeration in the story rather the author has depicted the exact scenes that he saw at the top of the highest peak in the world.
