This eleventh book is a well-balanced story and we cannot deny that the previous ten were well poised too. Julie Garwood does not favor a single character in her novels rather she gives proper time and space to both individuals falling in love as the story progresses. Peyton was just a little girl when she was saved by Finn.
Both of them were good friends and at that age, they didn’t know anything about love and affection. Then both of them started in their own way in life. Finn became an FBI agent and Peyton became a food critic, both of them were in different fields so they never thought that they would meet each other in life. Amy McFadden’s lovely voice in narration tells us about the twist as Peyton returns to her hometown when her father leaves Bishop Cove for Peyton and her sisters.
The sisters can inherit the property only if they are able to run the business for one year and show profit too. Peyton accepts the challenge but soon threats start coming her way and on one occasion she almost gets killed. Peyton calls her childhood friend Finn for help who gladly accepts the job. Like Shadow Music the two get time to spend together as long as the threat is there and the old friendship transforms into true love.
Finn never expected that he will get that close to Peyton in a quick time. Also, he realizes that the danger to Peyton’s life is increasing and he has to take extreme measures. The Secret will take the same amount of time because the length of these two stories is exactly the same. So you can select anyone from the two as they will provide the same leisure for the same time period.
