Thousands of years have passed and the place now known as Rakis is once again becoming a mess. This is not the first time that the population is facing such circumstances but they need a messiah. If help does not come to them in time then they might not be able to survive out of this chaos and the history of thousand years would be buried with them.
Several men from the world previously went on different space expeditions in the past and now they too are returning and are amazed to see such a chaotic picture of the world. Now going back into space is not an option left for them and staying is not possible under such circumstances. The children of Dune’s children can help in this thing as they have done before but their long slumber has made them weak or perhaps they cannot comprehend the situation now.
One new power which the author Frank Herbert adds is “love”. This power has never been there in Dune and Dune Messiah so not only for the Dune’s children but also for the audience it is a brand new addition which Simon Vance and Scott Brick narrate in the combo.
Several changes are brought in this single book. As a routine authors usually don’t experiment that much all of a sudden because a lot of changes can confuse the old listeners but this one is handled well. Changes are adjusted well in the story and it becomes a part of the entire thing very quickly. The listeners also get used to the situation very quickly because of its accurate description.
