Josh Erikson is writing and narrating the series at the same time which is quite a burden on his shoulders. Josh has shown maturity in both departments and there has been no error in any of the departments. The writing is compact and the narration is stronger than ever. None of the fans have been able to detect any pause or weakness in the story so it is one of the most recommended items in the fantasy world.
It is Gabe we are talking about i.e the one who was never a hero. Gabe was the kind of character who was made for the negative things but an incident changed his life forever. He wanted a way out of his past life so he decided to start acting like a hero. It was not easy still he managed the entire thing pretty well. Hero Forged was the book from which everything started.
Now the old gods and monsters are coming to the surface world once again which is not a good sign for the one who has been trying to keep his past hidden from the rest of the world. Gabe is given a task to retrieve an ancient artefact that is linked to a lot of power.
He thinks that the task is easy and will bring a lot of fortune for him but it was a mistake. The journey took Gabe to the places which he wished he never had visited. Hiding evil deeds and a scary past is not so easy when you are living among monsters and false gods. The new era is approaching and only the lucky ones would be able to survive.
