There are enemies in this foreign land who want to use her in their own way. One of the enemies wants her dead and then there is a lady who wants to sell the princess to the highest bidder. There is a king who thinks that he can make his kingdom powerful if he bonds with Vi. So everything is happening around Vi and she is not running away from danger rather she is running towards it because this seems to be the only way in this third part narrated by Sarah Sampino.
Give the story some time like A Dance with the Fae Prince and A Hunt of Shadows because it will strengthen its grip on your mind slowly. Everything settles into a proper place very slowly but when it is done, the story really impresses the listener.
