It’s Suzy Jackson who seals the fate of the characters of this series through narration. Those who have some idea of The Lost Metal and Words of Radiance will be delighted with the ending of this trilogy. Spensa secured the planet once when the aliens tried to invade.
Later she went to the den of the enemy and found something terrible. The enemy was planning a big war and only Spensa could stop it if she knows what it means to be Cytonic. In order to know the truth about herself, she went Nowhere in the previous part and she is still trapped there. No one has been able to come out of this place and it appears that she too will perish quite soon.
Jorgan is working with the aliens in the absence of Spensa and he is not sure whether he should trust these aliens or not. On the inside, Jorgan has many doubts in his mind about the aliens but he has to work with them because there is no other way, Jorgan’s powers are also increasing but the enemy is much stronger still. The humans are in need of an alliance and they are not going to go down without a fight.
