Echoes at Dawn is an awesome book and arguably the best in the series. You will love the character of Rio just as you have loved him in other chapters of the series. On the other side, Maya Banks also did a wonderful job with the writing of the female lead character. She produced a strong female without turning her by any means into a raving.
