Glen Cook’s writing captures the attention of the audience in the first four parts so strongly that nobody would be able to leave the fifth one. The company has faced a heavy defeat now and Lady is finding a place to hide for a while. The few companions that have been left with her are also in a broken condition but she wants to take revenge from the enemy at any cost. So the Lady starts finding new allies to accomplish her goals but she finds no one strong enough to help her.
A mysterious ancient cult appears before the Lady and it shows its concern for the current condition of the land. The bond is formed between the Lady and the cult as they prepare together for the destruction of their common enemy. The primary character also has another problem at hand here which is narrated quite slowly by Rachel Butera.
The Lady has been horrified by strange dreams at night and she has failed to understand the meaning of those dreams, one thing is for sure i.e the dreams are not bringing good news. Get the taste of The Black Company and The White Rose after finalizing this awesome book. Such stories can provide us with a strange kind of taste that cannot be explained in simple words.
Most of us tend to like the characters whom we see in danger and fighting against the odd things that have emerged in their lives. There is a strange battle going on in this series and the evil side gets the upper hand in most of the parts which makes us sympathetic towards the heroes who are fighting for a noble cause.
