No one goes to dark places that are linked to the tragedies of the past. Going to those dark places means scratching out the dark secrets which are better to be left buried. Gillian Flynn introduces the same kind of scene in the story as we are told that Libby the main character survives hell at the age of seven.
Years later Libby is contacted by a group that calls itself the Kill Club. The group wants to save Ben and for this, they need Libby to provide them with the details which would help Ben in court. Libby thinks that she would be able to make some money out of this situation so she shows her readiness to help the group. In order to gather some details, the girl goes back to the same place where it all started years back.
Narrators Rebecca Lowman, Robertson Dean, and Cassandra Campbell go intense at this point because a killer once again appears out of nowhere and Libby finds herself running for her life. Don’t go for Sharp Objects and The Grownup at once after this because the themes might seem to be colliding in that case.
