Curses have been the main item of Christine Feehan’s stories, the author presents curses deeply embedded in the stories. A story about Lara Calladine is attractive in the sense that nothing is clear about her life at the start. No one knows much about the girl, even she does not possess any information about herself. There is no mission for which she is assigned and still, she is in trouble because she is trying to find the route to Carpathian Mountains.
In her childhood, she was kept in prison where she met strange women whom she named her aunts. They’re in prison, those aunts told her strange stories and also taught her magic of which she previously had no idea. Then those women helped her to escape from the deadly place. Lara does not know whether the woman got killed after she escaped the prison or not.
There are certain things that she wants to clarify and for that purpose, she has to go back. Nicholas is the second character in the novel whom the narrators Phil Gigante and Jane Brown narrate. The man is actually on a mission given to him by his brothers and somehow he wants an escape from all of this.
Lightning Game could become a very good combination with this book not because of the story but because of the breathtaking situations. The story is full of threats and there is no chance for a romance, still, Nicholas and Lara do get some chance to enjoy a good time together. It is their single focus that helps them join hands and then they don’t want to let go.
