Daisy Jones & The Six is a women’s fiction novel. It is written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. She is a highly talented American author. You will find the author at her best in The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Another brilliant experience with the book of Taylor Jenkins Reid could be found in One True Love.
The audio narration of the book is done by Jennifer Beals, Judy Greer, Benjamin Bratt, and Pablo Schreiber. The narration is the strongest part of this book, and it was even better than the story itself.
Daisy was a coming-of-age girl who was living in Los Angeles in the 1960s. She used to go to the clubs which were on the Sunset Strip. She also used to sleep with different renowned rock stars and would dream about singing one day as well. The drugs and the sex thing were thrilling for her, but it was the rock ānā roll that she liked the most. By the age of 20, her voice started to get noticed and she also had the kind of heedless beauty that made people do many crazy things. The Six was also getting noticed. It was a band that was led by Billy Dine.
Right on the eve of their first ever grand tour, Camilla his girlfriend came to know about her pregnancy. With all the pressure coming from their fame and fatherhood of Billy, he went a little wild on the road. Billy and Daisy crossed paths with each other when a producer noticed that the main thing behind supercharged success is all about putting the two of them together. The thing that would have right after would become the stuff of legend.
The plot was reasonably good but the story was quite slow and in some places flat. The narration was superbly done though and that lifted this book to some extent.
