For Dagger, it was exactly like that after he met Jordan. Although Dagger was not a human he was an alien with perhaps a human heart. The moment he saw the thin and weak human girl his heart started pounding only for her.
Jordan came to Trivator along with her sisters when the earth got destroyed because of war and since then she has been trying to survive on this alien planet. Feelings about this alien warrior are keeping her alive and she wants to go on with it. S.E. Smith after starting the love relationship between the two characters creates separation between them.
Dagger gets arrested during the war and he is thrown in a savage place where to survive he has to fight demons. That place changes him completely and he tends to lose himself slowly. Memories of the human girl keep him safe from going insane completely. When Jordan hears that Dagger is alive somewhere on the other star, she starts her journey without fear of any kind in her heart.
It is the hope of reunion which keeps them alive and passionate about life. Drama like that in The King’s Quest and passion like that of Roam’s Valentine Wish is present in this novel narrated by David Brenin. Book is better than the rest of the books in every aspect and it is better to listen to it separately instead of combining it with other things.
