The fourth book of the series by Melanie Cellier depict the fact that a trilogy was not sufficient for the material which the author had in mind. The usual routine of ending the masterpiece in the trilogy is not followed in this series. The Hidden Mage started the thing and then there was no obstacle in the way of this series which is given voice by Shiromi Arserio.
Just like The Secret Princess there are some things in this series that the author reveals in a stepwise way because he wanted the audience to wait for the main thing. Verene and Darius are still at the academy and they are about to complete their final year at the academy. After graduation, they are destined to rule their kingdoms and it is because of this, that their families don’t want them to be together. These two characters on the other hand have bigger issues to deal with instead of their love life.
The danger is coming towards both kingdoms and Verene might be able to defend the fate of both lands if she gets hold of her powers. Darius also thinks that he and his kingdom might need Verene’s help when the danger comes to their doorstep. So it is all happening in this long series which is finally moving towards its conclusion.
By the looks of things, we can calculate that an ultimate sacrifice might be needed for the final showdown. The couple can save the day but for this, they have to be ready for the sacrifice when the time will come. Don’t think that the story is entirely tragic there will also appear some moments that will provide a few romantic thoughts to the listeners.
