This happens to be a different kind of world that author Jenetta Penner has portrayed in this episode of the series. Here people are not allowed to show their emotions and now after a long span of time, most of them don’t have emotions. Those who develop emotions are eradicated from the face of the world very quickly so that they might not contaminate others.
Avlyn is a young girl who is living with a level two family after she was separated from her biological parents. She used to have a brother who died at the age of four and since then she has been trying to hide, the way she feels about everything around her.
She has a connection with a rebel which she never talks about and this is a secret that she hasn’t discussed with her parents even because if the secret leaks then it would be all over for her. She was trying to find some time in order to find a way to control her emotions when she is selected for Gen Tech where all the people of the world are monitored.
Avlyn knows that she had to hide the entire vision thing which she has been dealing with for many months now because the government will not allow her to live if it finds out. Lillie Ricciardi narrated The Summer of June and The School for Whatnots with a lot of enthusiasm.
The fans were expecting the same kind of performance in this book as well and the author has given an even better performance. Don’t go anywhere, the book has action, suspense and a well-crafted love tale.
