Taking over the ranch was not their passion of Bodine but she had no other way because it was a family business and she was the only adult member to take the duty. Bodine had an aunt once but she just ran away from the house and since then no one talks about her. No one knows why Alice ran away from the house and never met her family again.

The younger members of the family don’t know that Alice is still alive rather they think that she is long dead. Bodine tries to expand the resort business a bit quickly and for this, she hires a lot of new servants too who can take care of things. Callen also gets a duty in the resort and he finds the place quite peaceful.

Later Bo and Cal find a dead body in the snow and they think that it was not the result of an accident so they call the police at once. The police doubt Cal’s character which makes the situation worse for Bo because she knows that he hasn’t done anything. Then Alice suddenly returns to the ranch which surprises the entire family.

Everyone gets alarmed that why Alice appeared in the family house after all these years and she surely has a few surprises for everyone. Nora Roberts has that habit of surprising the fans and she has done in it on a number of occasions in Morrigan’s Cross. No one can ignore the twisty plot of One Summer along with other masterpieces which the author has created. Without any pauses or hindrance, the narration is provided to the story by Elisabeth Rodgers.
