Christmas Eve, 1914

World War not only took lives rather it also took the happy moments away from the life of the people. For many years the humans who were left behind weren’t able to enjoy life up to the maximum level because they lost too much in the forms of life and property. Christmas Eve by Charles Olivier is not just a story rather it is a historical moment that the author talks about i.e a moment that brought happiness and humanity back to earth on the day of Christmas.

During those days, soldiers from both sides were living dreadful life as there was not too much ration for them and they were living in miserable conditions too. Whoever tried to go near the No Man’s Land was shot at once so they have to remain in their trenches all the time.

On Christmas Eve, the soldiers finally decided on a truce as they came out of their trenches and decided to celebrate Christmas together. It was the time when the soldiers from both sides shared their war rations too and showed that they were actually humans. Cameron Daddo, Cody Fern, James Scott, and John Beck narrated the moment which brought happiness to the soldiers and they started to think in a different way.

Books of the category The Murder Rule and The Wrong One are fantasies while this one is derived from real life events. Though the characters are created by the author the event happens to be a genuine one in the history of man. The good deed was done by the soldiers from both sides on Christmas Eve.
