The subject novel is the 12th installment in the fantastic and much loved The Dresden Files novel series. The book is a science fiction fantasy. It is written by Jim Butcher who is credited with some of the best science fiction and mystery novels that the audience have come across. His novels like Death Masks and Peace Talks provided book enthusiasts with nonstop action and literary entertainment.
The narration of this chapter is handled by James Marsters. His is highly skillful and could meld his voice so it could believably sound like a woman or her whisper. He did an outstanding job overall to bring the imaginative work of Jim Butcher to life. Susan Rodrigues very long ago was the lover of Harry Dresden. This remained the case until the time Susan got attacked by Harry’s enemies. That event left her torn between the Red Court and the humanity. Susan then escaped to South America. That was the place from where she could fight for the savage gift and also the ones who actually cursed her with the same.
Arianna Ortega now is the Duches of the Red Court. She has finally discovered a big secret that Susan was hiding for a long time. She had every intention to use it against Harry Dresden. He might have no actual choice in the case, other than to clinch the rampant fury of the dark power. It is because Harry Dresden is not fighting at all to save the world. This fight for him is to save or protect his own child and that’s it.
The subject novel is probably the best in terms of its pace as compared with other novels of Jim Butcher. The rich drama and amazing character building will inspire audience a lot. This is actually the hallmark of the great writer which Jim Butcher definitely is.
