Writing thirty six parts of the series in the same fashion and passion is tough even for an author like J.D. Robb. Sometimes it happens that an author starts losing grip on the subject matter or the material does not appear to be so much enthusiastic. The listeners also don’t want to keep on listening to such material again and again.

That is not the case here so don’t get a negative gesture from the number of episodes mentioned on the top cover. Moreover, the story is not in a continuous order so the listener can start from any part and they can skip anyone that they like. Encore in Death and Secrets in Death is also a few of the parts which are narrated by Susan Ericksen just like this one.

A woman gets killed in Manhattan and the police find her dead body at the end of the stairs. The killer has taken all the valuable items of the woman which means that he was basically there for the robbery but Marta tried to stop him and lost her life. The police wanted to close the case but Eve Dallas and her assistant Peabody find something else in the room of the Marta.

There were blood stains in the room as well which means that someone wanted the murder to appear like a robbery. Some files from Marta’s office were missing which shows that the killer had other motives that he tried to fulfill. Thus Eve decides to become the bait in order to catch the killer on this occasion and if she misses then the killer will surely hit right on target.
