Two lovers who care for each other but they don’t want to depict their feelings to each other are here. The female tries to convey her feelings to her beloved whom she calls Crow but he is not willing to replay in the same passion. She gets the message that he is not interested in her so when she gets the chance, she just runs away from the place where they were kept together.
Now she comes to New York and starts a new life with the awareness that there is a tracker in her ankle and it is in working condition. If Crow wants to come to her then he would be able to track her with the help of that tracker so that was the main reason because of why she left the tracker working. However, after a long passage of time, she realized that Crow was not coming for her at all and when he said that he wasn’t interested then he really meant that so waiting for him was not the right choice.
Then one day when the woman comes back to her apartment she finds a pile of buttons on the table and she realizes that Crow is still keeping an eye on her. Penelope Sky has written the other part of the series too with the name Buttons and Hate so pick this second book directly after this one.
Michael Ferraiuolo and Samantha Cook have narrated both of these books so there is no variation in the voice at all. Empress in Lingerie is a bit comic as compared to this one because here the love takes serious turns on every occasion.
