Working with a tough boss and then sleeping with him at night is one hell of a ride for any woman who is trying to find a well settled place in society. Besh was looking for a job and also a place to live. She was lucky that the same man provided her with both these opportunities but she thinks that she cannot take it anymore because the tasks which this man named Santillian asks her to fulfil are out of her reach and now he is mad at her.
So Besh thinks that the time has come for her to move forward in life and resign from her duties permanently. It does not mean that she wasn’t satisfied with her boss in bed but it is actually the office work which tires her and she is not looking to continue a fake kind of relationship in the future.
Kate Canterbary talks about the nature of the character more in the novels and this helps her to define the character pretty well. The Space Between made the two characters work really hard for their love life and also make things normal for them. Here Besh assures Santillian that she will provide him with a better alternative and she will also be there at the wedding ceremony of his sister but the man wants more.
He wants the whole thing i.e from the body to the soul. Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder have taken a lot of care about the personality of the characters in order to provide them with an accurate voice for this novel which is about lust and loves together. The two characters really need each other and they realize the reason for all of that in the end.
