Trying to get an action packed life all the time is not something that people would usually look for all the time. Terrell used to be an active FBI agent in the past but after retirement, he was in no mood of coming back to the job.
Then he had some heart issues as well because of which he just left all the active work in life. After the heart transplant Terrell wasn’t looking for stress even and quite ironically he gets a case linked to murder at his hands. Graciella comes to Terrell and makes a request to solve the murder case of her sister Gloria. Gloria was killed in cold blood after which the criminal was never caught at all.
Terrell gets really shocked to listen to the entire tale of bloodshed and he decides to help Gloria’s sister. Catching the tricky killer was not easy and Terrell was also not feeling a hundred percent. He thinks that he should have taken more rest after the transplant but there was nothing he could do about it.
Michael Connelly did wonders in Desert Star and Echo Park: Harry Bosch Series, Book 12 so knitting another story like that was not so much difficult for the author. Connelly has proved that he has the guts to create big all the time and only narrators like Dick Hill can narrate such stories with a lot of aggression present in it. The killer is working like a predator this time and it needs quite a skill to catch a criminal like this one. In most places, Terrell is seen thinking about his own survival too when the case becomes tougher.
