Story of Richard Rahl and Kahlan, has faced many jerks but the two have survived till this day. Days of worry are not over for them still and their love has kept them fighting for the land and their personal goals too. An ancient evil has awoken and the New World is helpless against it because it was depending on the old seals which have been broken now. Author Terry Goodkind has not given any special weapon to the two main characters in this third part rather they are depending on their own strength and courage. Previous part took the two to the limits of savagery when Kahlan chained the love of her life and this part also needs the same intensity from these two. If they fail in saving the land then there would be total chaos on the land for centuries to come.
But they also are worried about their own lives too because if one of them perishes in the process then life would become hell for the other. Richard and Kahlan can sacrifice their lives for the land but sacrificing the hard earned love is something impossible for these two chosen heroes. Buck Schirner narrates it totally differently and it is not like Temple of the Winds and Stone of Tears, in those two parts the narrators used more emotional tone. The emotions are induced in this part as well by author but the narrator has used one single and simple tone throughout the story. Buck has not tried to overdo things and it has left a good impact on the story also the clarity is matchless.
