Blood of the Earth Audiobook
Jane Yellowrock is a skinwalker and she has been featuring in different novels by Faith Hunter for many years. In this first book of an entirely new series, we again meet Jane but she is not the main character of this novel. The current series is actually about Nell Ingram i.e a girl who has powerful magic in her hands but still she is hiding from something.
The cult that raised her in the past has now thrown her out in the world of humans because of certain reasons and she does not want to talk about it. She drives her powers from the forest and the earth; it seems that she has a deep connection with all of this for a very long time. Jane meets Nell in this first book and she establishes her connection with the PsyLED which is a security agency. [Blood of the Earth Audiobook]
The only difference in this security agency is that it is for paranormal creatures thus it is not serving humans. Agent Rick comes to Nell in this part and asks her for a mission related to the vampire Blood Master. Nell is not afraid at first but later she is told that the investigation will lead to the cult that threw her out in the past. [Blood of the Earth Audiobook]
Khristine Hvam in the beginning uses a simple voice in narration but the return to the cult is narrated dramatically. Nell is super scared because she is aware of what is coming to her very soon. Some scenes make this story look like a mixture of Junkyard Cats and Spells for the Dead because the author portrays it in the same old style which the audience likes. Continuation and the sharp turns in the story also increase its appeal to an entirely different level.
