Strange things happen here and there in the world and people consider this a coincidence. In Hawkins Hollow, this is not a coincidence rather it is a curse that destroys the people of the town after a span of seven years on the seventh day of the seventh month. Many have witnessed deadly things after every seven years but Caleb Hawkins can feel that the evil will be more terrible this coming year.
Evil has started lurking out of the woods at the start of the year which shows the tendency of that darkness this year. The old memories still haunt Caleb because he is unable to forget what happened twenty one years ago. Fox and Gage are called to the scene because Caleb thinks that he might not be able to save everyone on his own this time.
His family was the one that founded this town and it is up to him to keep the town and its people safe. They never wanted to add Quinn Black to their team because there was no need for a reporter under such circumstances. Quinn added herself in because she can also see the evil approaching and this makes her different from the rest of the town.
Phil Gigante had to use all his skills to narrate this book as such books are not easy to handle. New things keep on coming from Nora Roberts and the themes are going far away from Year One and Bed of Roses. This new kind of world that we are observing here is superb and don’t get the gesture that previously the author was not creating great things. Nora has remained the fan favorite since the beginning of her career.
