Before entering the war zone, Thatcher Hutton was a free cowboy in Texas. He used to love his free life and at the end of the war, he decides to go back to that same old life once again. On his return, the welcome was not quite pleasant and there came a time when Thatcher had to jump from a train in order to save himself.
From there he came to a new town that looked pleasant but the situation was not very welcoming. On the day of his arrival, Thatcher felt that the people of the town were considering him a suspicious being. Actually, on the same day a woman was abducted and the people of the town had doubts about Thatcher because he was the new member of society.
Thus the initial days didn’t go well because there were a lot of people with whom the young cowboy had to deal with. There was Laurel Plummer whose life was also filled with tragedy and she didn’t want to get closer to a man. She was of the view that she would be able to design a better future for herself without the help of a man.
The appearance of this new cowboy in the town brought some new thoughts into his mind about this lady but she thought that it would be nice to get rid of those thoughts as quickly as possible. Sandra Brown is the creator of this book and this one of a kind author has marvelously shown her true colors in Lethal and Mean Streak along with this one. Another important aspect of this book that should not be missed is the voice of Jason Culp who has narrated a book after quite a while now.
