A combination of black and white is awesome by Michael Livingston. Not only the name of the missing ship is mysterious but also its appearance which is told through legends is rocking. The ship got lost long ago when the route was blocked by ice and snow since then no one knows about its existence.
Different people who don’t have a firm belief in the old legend think that the ship was destroyed but according to myth, the ship was indestructible. Bela’s nation is on the verge of destruction and they need some help or perhaps a miracle to get out of the situation. The girl along with her crew goes to the open sea in search of the Sandcrow i.e the missing ship.
The ship is supposed to have awesome magical powers but finding it is tough especially when there is so much ice all around. There is a probability that Bela and her crew would get trapped in that severe climatic situation and might not come back ever. If the ship is not found then it is death for Bela and the other people present in the group.
Even if the ship is found none of them knows that what is present on the ship because they aren’t expecting any crew that might be alive after all these years. Listening to Janina Edwards’ wonderful voice in narration forces us to complete the book till the last word. At some points the voice of the narrator gets really low when the darkness surrounds the heroes from all sides. It is done to show the grim situation present around the voyagers.
