Paul Sparks made a poor choice to narrate this novel. He didn’t have much experience with narration ahead of this and made a total mess of this audiobook.
Billy Summers was a man in a room. He had a gun in his hand. He was a killer for hire and was considered the best man for the job. But, he would only kill someone if the target for sure is a bad guy. And then the time came when he wanted to opt out of it. But, ahead of that, there has to be one last hit. Billy Summers was considered to be one of the best snipers in the world. He was a highly decorated Iraq war veteran. He was a Houdini when it comes to disappearing once his job is done. So what could be the thing that could go wrong with him or his job?
This is a good book with a good story but some of the political references and the biases of the author were not taken that well by all the listeners. This book will be one part an exciting thriller story and the other part is a love letter written to the small town of America and its inhabitants.
