Bacchanal is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is written by Veronica G. Henry. Bacchanal is her most prominent novel which has a historical setting. The short fiction writings of Veronica have also appeared in award-winning FIYAH magazine. Apart from the subject title, The Quarter Storm is another amazing book from the author.
The audio narration of the subject book is done by Robin Miles. It was a brilliant performance that brought the story to life like no other narrator could have done.
Eliza was abandoned by her family. She was all alone and on the completely wrong side of the things with very little that she could call her own. She was gradually coming to terms with what she had. It was a great and special gift to communicate with the animals. She was more of a magical tender to some. For the others, she was a devil. When it came to a talent prospector, she was more of a crowd-drawing oddity. The Bacchanal Carnival was supposed to be her ticket out of Baton Rouge’s trap.
Among all the barkers, carnies, and fortune-tellers, Eliza was able to find her new home. But, mind you that Bacchanal by no means was any ordinary carnival. The place was home to an ancient demon too. She hid in disguise behind a lustrous disguise and fed only on the innocent souls. She also met her true match in Eliza who was only the stat to comprehend the purpose of her flourishing powers.
The storyline and the characters of the book are stunning. The premise is unique and then the spectacular performance by Robin made it a perfect audiobook for fiction lovers.
