This is not the average society which Terri Anne Browning talks about rather the author has come up with something strange. This is a society which has its own rules and no one is allowed to break those rules. If someone tries to break those rules or even thinks of doing such an act then he is found in the pool of blood after that.
So the enforcer has set these rules and he has not allowed anyone to break those rules. Among those rules is the rule of no touching or even thinking of Raven who happens to be the daughter of the enforcer. Because of this no one ever tried to come closer to Raven because she was a special case and no male member of society wanted to risk his life for the sake of such a love.
Emily Cauldwell has narrated Raven as a character who is not happy with her life because of this situation. Jed Drummond, Holly Warren and Alexa McKraken narrate the rest of the characters who are given a voice which shows that they are afraid of the consequences. Bash comes into Raven’s life all of a sudden and he knows the penalty of breaking the golden rule. Still, he advances towards her and gets beaten down by her brother.
Remember Angel’s Halo: Guardian Angel comes next so listen to this one very carefully as Bash gets the chance to become the president and he thinks that he has another chance to get closer to the girl of his dreams. Unlike Sofia: Sacrificed, it is the male member who is going to sacrifice more for the sake of his love and he thinks that he is doing the right thing.
