Aces Abroad is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the fourth chapter of the Wild Cards novel series which is authored by George R. R. Martin. He is an American author, short story writer, screenwriter, and TV producer.
He is the writer of the amazing A Song of Ice and Fire series which was adapted into the immensely popular Game of Thrones novel series. A Game of Thrones title from the author will make a very fascinating listening experience and so is his A Dance with Dragons.
The audio narration of Aces Abroad is done by Kathleen Turner, Adrian Paul, Clancy Brown, P.J. Ochlan, and the full cast. The narration was too crowded and that made it a difficult and unpleasant listening experience.
Four decades after the release of the Wild Card Virus, the WHO decided that it was the right time to take a delegation of Jokers, Aces, journalists, and politicians on a mission.
That fact-finding mission will be for learning about other countries and their way of dealing with the virus. Gregg Hartmann, a senator was leading that mission along with the presidential aspirations and an extremely perilous ace up his sleeves.
He was also joined by the most famous and the best Wild Cards of the series. These include Dr. Tachyon, Golden Boy, and Peregrine. A few others were the joker’s troll Chrysalis and Father Squid.
The Wild Cards were all set for an eye-opening tour. That was the time when alliances would also be formed…
The book had a very slow start but it picked up pace towards the middle. However, the long cast of narrators turned this book into a terrible listening experience.
