A fan of fairy tales will be astounded to hear of bloodshed in the story but it is all happening these days. Fairy tales are not that innocent anymore because the authors are trying to play against the rules to bring something new for the ever-hungry audience. Queen of Air and Darkness is not in a good mood here because her niece has run away from the palace and she is nowhere to be found.
Finding her would have been easy for the queen if she hadn’t changed her name. The queen can trace her name from the air because the air obeys every command of the queen. Princess Meredith knew about all this so she has changed her name and is living the life of a private detective on earth.
The queen wants to get rid of Meredith because as long as she is alive the queen cannot rule supreme over everything. Also, the queen has a secret agenda that she wants to fulfill. Laurell K. Hamilton makes the story look deadly as the queen sends the deadly Doyle on the mission to kill the princess.
For the princess, the days of fun are over now because she has to save herself and the rest of the people around her. Rafael and Guilty Pleasures were about vampires and vampire hunters; this series is different apparently because it talks about queen and princess. In the end, however, the fighting and running scenes narrated by Laural Merlington gets into the same groove. The desperate run for survival and the hidden or secretive agendas of the villain are approximately the same things that we have seen in the past.
