Three humans get a shocker when they are taken to another planet by an alien race and then they are left on the planet naked. The purpose of the alien race is unknown because they didnβt bring any harm to Joseph, Heather, and Mark. All the aliens focused on was just one thing i.e the humans should never be able to meet one another on the planet.
They are left on different parts of the planet and with no technology in hand they are not able to establish any kind of contact with each other. For years they wandered here and there not in search of each other but for the basic necessities of life which would help their survival. Olan Thorensen has described the isolation of these human beings in a different way. The aliens wanted them not to disturb the Anyarβs civilization.
The experience of each individual in this story is different and it is given equal time by the author. The author has not treated a single character as the primary character of the story. Olan has given equal time to all the three characters which show that the author wanted the listener to keep an eye on each of the characters because they possess some important role at the end.
Jonathan Davisβ voice is not new for such a story because the narrator has been dealing with such stories since the beginning of his career. An Ancient Enemy and Heavier Than a Mountain had limited characters in them and this book too concentrates only on the characters that get depicted at the beginning. Instead of adding more characters, the author has always tried to portray the primary characters with full care.
