The God Is Not Willing is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the first book in the Witness novel series which is written by Steven Erikson. He is a Canadian author, who received formal education as an anthropologist and archeologist. However, it was writing that became his huge passion and he give literary pieces as good as Gardens of the Moon. Moreover, Forge of Darkness is another sensational title from Steven Erikson that is not to be missed.
The audio narration of The God Is Not Willing is done by Emma Gregory. The narration was badly done especially since there were so many issues with mispronunciations. That made this audiobook a difficult listen.
Many years had passed since the three warriors brought immense chaos and carnage to the Silver Lake. Then, the tribes of the north no longer had to venture anywhere deep or shallow into the Southlands. The town has done well in recovering itself and the legacy yet remains the same. The Malazan army was responding to all the reports of increasing unease among the different tribes existing beyond the border. The army then marched onto the people of a new god. They all weren’t quite sure what they were going to come across. Moreover, a new war leader was seen rising tall from the Teblor, within those high mountains.
This installment proved to be an eccentric continuation in the Malazan saga. The new followers would find it to be more relatable as compared to the last series. There are plenty of new faces this time along with some old ones too. The overall experience will be sensational, with the only exception of the narration which didn’t go well.
