The Faerie Games is the first book in The Faerie Games Series. It is a work of science fiction and fantasy which is authored by Michelle Madow. She is the bestselling author of YA novels along with a very good range of titles to her name. One of her better titles is The Dragon Scorned. Apart from this, you will also like her tremendous writing in The Dragon Queen.
The audio narration of The Faerie Games novel is done by Patricia Santomasso. This was a fairly decent performance that will hold your attention right from the beginning of this audio novel.
I am Selena Pearce and I grew up in Avalon which was a magical island. But, I didn’t have magic and my parents prohibit me from leaving. But, when he had me pulled through an enchanted portal then I came to realize that he was not a human. He was a faerie, a half-blood one, who was sent there to pull me to his Otherworld realm. It was because I was myself a half-blood faerie too. And, I was the one selected to compete in the Faerie Games for the year. It was more of a gladiator-type, brutal competition of the half-blood faeries, who only fight to the death.
It was so bad for me that I was not able to have my magic under my complete control. I had two options there with all eyes on me. The first option was that I should just die in the Faerie Games. If this doesn’t work for me then the other option was to win the competition and subsequently earn my freedom.
When I sneaked out for a night on Earth and met the charming guy Julian there then I didn’t hesitate in saying yes to a date with him
The storyline was intriguing and it had the audience interested, especially in seeing how Selena fared here. The ending of this chapter would push you to go for the next one in the series.
