The characters sound extremely good and larger than life in the voice of Harrison. Jessalyne was quite keen to find a spot in the world and then understand all about the frightening gifts with which she was born. She left behind her sheltered life to be an apprentice to the most resourceful sorceress ever to be seen in Shaldar. She hired Ertemis for the job who was known as the deadliest creature in the realm.
The dark elf Ertemis with the bounty of the Legion over his head was quite reluctant in the need to escort Hessalyne. However, she badly needed the money which she offered, especially if he ever gets the chance to discover that who his real father is.
Kristen Painter is a writer who creates an impression with her characters rather than the storyline. This is again a typical book of the author where you will find a good balance between the characters and the story. Overall, it becomes a good listening experience when it comes to such excellent narration.
