A girl always thinks about good things for her sister and it is seldom noticed that a girl envies her sister. Though in the stories we usually see the opposite that is how the stories go. Ilona Andrews does not mind by keeping the thing conventional i.e showing sisterly love between Catalina Baylor and her sister. It was the marriage of Catalina’s sister for which she was very excited as she wanted everything to go perfect.
Sadly the things went in the opposite direction and the marriage turned out to be a disaster all of a sudden. Someone among the guests or perhaps an outsider robs the room of the bride and runs away with her belongings. Issues with Rogan just adds more to the already tense situation. It is up to Catalina to bring things back to normal after all she is the only one with magic.
The girl has magical powers in her hand but she thinks that her sister’s marriage is not the right place to use it. For her sister Catalina brings in the heat and starts an investigation she promises to her sister that she will not stop until she catches the troublemaker and returns with the things.
Renee Raudman and Emily Rankin have narrated both sisters separately so their voices never mix. Blood Heir and Magic Bites are equal in style and the grip of the story is also the same. This novel provides some space to laugh as well because things don’t turn out to be very deadly. Confusions between the sisters are seen but they don’t go all the way in the story.
