This is the fifth tour to Thunder Point on which the author Robyn Carr has taken the audience. Every time the pace is the same as another couple decides to union in this romantic atmosphere where people are keeping a close eye on you from all directions. Being the only doctor in the area Scott Grant thinks that his dating options are quite limited. Also, he does not possess time for himself because, after his working hours, he has to take care of his two kids.
There was a time when he was living a happy life but after the death of his wife, he has been living a miserable life. The people of the town gave accepted him and his two children with open arms but that is not enough for him in life.
Peyton comes to Thunder Point also for the healing process because she has been deceived by her former lover who too was a man with two kids. Now she needs a place to hide for a while and a job with the help of which she would be able to support herself. She applies for a job at Scott’s clinic, and although he offers a low salary Peyton thinks that it is good for the start. Scott keeps her on a three-month trial during which she can think of another job with a better salary.
Therese Plummer narrates the eagerness between the two characters very beautifully at this stage. Love develops more quickly between the two than it was seen in One Wish and Angel’s Peak. The two characters weren’t ready for the experiment of a love affair but their feelings soon go beyond their control.
