Daylight is a suspenseful mystery thriller by David Baldacci. It is the fifth chapter in John Puller novel series and the third chapter of An Atlee Pine Thriller. Baldacci over the years has established himself as one of the finest writers of mystery thrillers of this generation. You will find this statement coming true if you listen to the audio version of his Memory Man novel. The 6:20 Man novel the author is also highly recommended.
The audio narration of the Daylight novel is done by Brittany Pressley and Kyf Brewer. Kyf just as always has been spot-on with his performance. Brittany was also not bad with her performance.
Atlee Pine for many years was deeply tormented by uncertainty. This was especially the case after Mercy, her twin sister was abducted. That happened when she was just six years old and was never seen again. Then just as Atlee was pressurized to finish her investigation into the disappearance of Mercy, she eventually got her breakthrough in the case – It was about the identity of the kidnapper of her sister and he was Ito Vincenzo.
Time was running out fast. Atlee along with her assistant Carol raced to the last known location of Vincenzo which was in Trenton, NJ. They stumbled unknowingly straight into the case of John Puller, blowing his arrest at the time of an investigation related to a drug that also involved the military installation.
The joint investigation of Pine and Puller discovered a connection between the family of Vincenzo and a breathtaking plan which was aimed at the core of global democracy… Daylight is a breathtaking novel and probably the best in the John Puller series so far. You will be hooked throughout the story and wouldn’t like this one to end.
