Ender’s Shadow Audiobook
The Buggers came to the earth for a survey tour first of all and they were not there for invasion. The enemy just wanted to check the potential of the human race initially. The humans finally saw the flaws in the defense system and they recognized that if the enemy will come in its full force then they will not stand a chance. They were lucky in the sense that the enemy was coming from a distant world so they would reach the planet after a couple of years.
Meanwhile, the humans had a chance to train their best officers for the final showdown. An institute with the name Battle School was created, and later that institute started recruiting young children from all over the world who would act as the future generals of mankind.
Andrew Ender was the one they selected as the leader and he really proved that he was capable of the task. Orson Scott Card has discussed the secondary character in this novel, the one who was always with Ender. His name was Bean and he was second in command when the Buggers invaded with full force.
Bean was a true survivor i.e the one who knew the art of surviving from his early youth. So he forged the perfect pair with the one who liked fighting on the front foot. Ender’s Game and Shadows in Flight also talk about both of these characters. Scott Brick and Gabrielle de Cuir have narrated these characters and also the rest of the characters that are with them in the story. This is the kind of story that has knitted the background and it is not part of the mainstream.
As a response I would only like to say that without the movie I would have never heard of the book. And now I’m reading them all chronologically. So don’t knock off movies totally. The books are much better but the distribution of the movie is much larger.
